Battlefield 2 server eating up box space…
Project Reality and Battlefield 2 are nice to host in your linux box, lots of team work and easy to setup as opposed to many other first person shooters.
However and with Proyect reality it tends to happen a lot; whenever a user makes a mistake on the maplist or the admin files the server wont start but if you haveset a cron job it will keep trying… the result is that each time it fails it will dump in your home directory a core.XXXX file that varies from 40Mb to 500Mb, recently i found more than ten Gb of such core.xxx files in 3 of the servers I host.
Those files will just sit there unless you are a computer wizard (in which case you probably wont be reading this) and it is perfectly safe to delete them frpm your linux box to recover used space.
